Help! I'm Losing My Hair!

Is it possible that it is an autoimmune condition or COVID?

Even though a lot of women have already been dealing with hair loss, there has been a lot more discussion about it since since the beginning of the COVID pandemic.

Elline Surianello, founder and CEO of LeMetric Hair Design Studio, has witnessed an increase in the number of clients who have experienced hair loss as a result of treatment with Covidien.

In our New York City studio, we have been assisting ladies who are experiencing hair loss for more than 25 years. Women aged 50 and older who suffer from hair loss that is caused by genetic or hormonal reasons are typically included in this category. But in recent times, there has been a rise in the number of younger women seeking explanations after making a full recovery from COVID.

Many ladies have had hair loss because of the stress and worry that was brought on by COVID. In the majority of cases, hair loss started roughly three months after healing was completed. While some women do experience regrowth of their hair over time, the majority of women report that their thinning hair or loss of hair is permanent.

Autoimmune diseases are another factor that can lead to female pattern baldness. These conditions include diabetes type one, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, lupus, inflammatory bowel disease, Graves disease, and alopecia. Other examples include lupus and inflammatory bowel disease.

According to Surianello, "many of our customers have experienced hair loss as a result of one of the various autoimmune conditions," but "the one we encounter most frequently is alopecia, a disease in which the immune system destroys hair follicles causing hair loss."

Even while alopecia can cause hair loss on any part of the body, it most commonly occurs on the scalp and the facial hair. Persons who have specific autoimmune disorders like psoriasis, thyroid disease, or vitiligo are more likely to have alopecia, as are people who have allergy conditions like hay fever. However, the majority of people who have the disease are healthy and have no additional symptoms. Alopecia cannot be treated in any way at this time.

"One of our customers," says Surianello, "was covering her hair loss during Zoom conversations with headbands and artificial pony tails, but when it was time to go back to the office, she wanted a better solution." "We were able to help her find a solution," says Surianello.

LeMetric is the go-to destination for thousands of ladies searching for high-quality, bespoke hair pieces that appear just as natural as a woman's own hair. LeMetric hair pieces are not only a solution for women who are unable to regenerate a complete head of hair, but they can also give a woman the hair she has always dreamed of having. For some women, hair loss may not be irreversible, but for those who are unable to do so, it is permanent.

According to Surianello, "Depending on the area of the hair loss, we are able to design a topper that integrates with a woman's own hair, or for more severe hair loss, a custom-made piece that replaces the hair that was lost yet integrates with any hair that is still present." The form of the woman's head is taken into consideration while designing these individualized hair pieces, and they can be crafted for the customer in any color, length, or style of their choosing. They are made to be breezy and comfy, and they are simple to clean, style, wear to bed, and even go swimming in.

Surianello has personal experience with the condition of losing one's hair. "Ever since I was a child, I've had problems with my hair falling out. When I was a teenager, there were no simple answers to any of life's problems. I experimented with wearing extensions as well as wigs. Extensions were not able to solve the problem of thinning hair on top of my head, and wigs sold in stores were too hot and uncomfortable for me to wear. They were also prone to sliding and falling.

"I didn't discover and perfect a process of adding additional hair until I was an adult working in the beauty industry. At that point, I decided to launch LeMetric because of what I had found and how I had improved upon it. I was clueless on the number of potential female participants. Women’s Day magazine ran an article about me and within a month, I received nine thousand requests. I instantly recognized there was a need for my service.”

LeMetric's first store, which is still operating in New York City at 140 East 40th Street, continues to provide its services to female customers throughout the Northeast. Evanston, New York and Lakeworth, Florida are the two new locations that have been added to the chain.

Consultations with Surianello are always free of charge and can be arranged over the phone, via Zoom, or in person at any of its three locations. You can reach Elline Surianello by telephone at 800-217-9052 or via email at Elline@LeMetric.com to schedule an appointment with her.
